Consultancy:- Expression of interest to conduct baseline surveys

The Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) is calling for an expression of interest to conduct baseline surveys in four countries: Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

SAT is a regional NGO with 21 years experience of programming and partnering with community responses to HIV and AIDS. SAT’s overall objective is to support targeted communities and those who support communities in the region to develop replicable models for the integration of HIV responses into strong sustainable community systems for sexual and reproductive health and rights.

For the next five years, SAT is entering a new strategy to continue to support communities in a rapidly changing context. For this reason, We are seeking the services of a consulting, academic or research institution with the expertise to conduct baseline surveys (in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe) to establish pre operation conditions for a set of indicators to be used to assess performance towards strategic results defined in SAT’s logic model. The baseline results will be critical in establishing benchmarks for evidence based decision making.

The prospective consulting, academic or research institution is expected to have the following profile:

• A regional reach and considerable experience in the targeted countries and must be able to start the survey immediately to allow baseline assessment before implementation starts.

• Sound knowledge of public health and development issues, especially Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV and AIDS, women’s health, prevention with youth, integration and advocacy.

• At least 10 years of consultancy experience in the areas of public health, HIV and AIDS, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues in both organizations and communities.

• A good understanding of policy issues in the said countries around youth, SRH&R, women’s health and HIV/AIDS.
