Making resources work for communities through increased HIV and AIDS competence
  • SAT's Board

SAT is governed by a skills-based Board that provide strategic direction through biannual meetings. The majority of the Board members are actively working with HIV and AIDS issues in the southern African region. The Board has established committees ( executive, legal and  finance) to handle matters in between board meetings. At country level, the regional Board has established advisory committees to ensure SAT's relevance to the national context.

Helen Jackson: Board Chair and member of the Executive Committee. Helen is prevention advisor at UNAIDS RSTESA

Judith Flick: Vice Chair and member of the Executive Committee. Judith was global HIV and AIDS director and regional Director for southern Africa for OXFAM (GB) but is now working as a consultant for the presencing Institute.

Connie Mutunhu: Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee. Connie is heading a bank in Zimbabwe and is also chairing the SAT Finance Committee.

Brenda Kahari: lawyer from Zimbabwe. Brenda is a member of the legal committee.

Dan Mullins: Deputy Regional Director for programme quality, in CARE's Southern Africa Regional Management Unit. Dan is member of the legal committee.  

Dan Pretorius: Lawyer and trainer based at the AIDS law project in Johannesburg. He delivers training and takes up workplace discrimination cases. Dan is a member of the legal committee.

Linda Ritchter: Executive Director of child, youth, family and social development at the Human Sciences Research Council in south Africa

Miriam Banda: from Zambia, Chair of the Network of African People living positively - southern African Region (NAP+SAR).

Anthony Kinghorn: is head of the Technical Support Facility (TSF).

Antonica Hembe: Head of the SADC's HIV and AIDS Unit, based in Gaborone, Botswana.
