Gained capacity and recognition as an effective peer education AIDS Service organisation on the Copperbelt Province and in Zambia; embarked on comprehensive programming.

HIV/AIDS Prevention (HAPN) Project

Raised awareness of HIV and AIDS in Mufulira district, and along both sides of the border between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Mokambo area.

Kabompo AIDS Programme (KAP)

KAP provided comprehensive interventions for HIV and AIDS that included Community and Peer Education, Home Based Care; Gender, Human Rights (with special emphasis on children and women�s rights) and the partner is in the process of starting VCT. The partner has also heightened awareness about gender and HIV in the Kabompo area where traditional and cultural beliefs and practices disadvantage women and children. Addressed issues of HIV related stigma and discrimination, and the challenges of providing care and support for PLWHA in their communities.

Kuba Lusa Community Based Organisation (Kuba Lusa)

Kuba Lusa provided comprehensive HIV and AIDS interventions in the context of traditional leadership orientation. The partner was established and run through the Royal Establishment of Senior Chief Kasempa and through this project, the partner has raised awareness and triggered interest to challenge and address traditional issues and practices (such as spouse inheritance; circumcision of several/many persons using one knife) that provide pre-disposure to HIV infection. Through outreach activities the project has been an effective channel of getting messages across to the community.

Kwenuha Women�s Association

Reformed commercial sex workers from the "sex trade". Provided HIV and AIDS interventions, including home based care and income generating activities.   

Loloma Mission Hospital

Mobilised and built the competence, of its community in initiating and implementing HIV/AIDS community interventions, notably CABA support; promoted the involvement and participation of local traditional leadership.

Sisters of the Sacred Heart

St. Kalemba Mission Hospital (St. Kalemba)

Traditional Health Practitioners of Zambia (THPAZ)

Advocated for and promoted traditional medicine and traditional healers. Provided HIV/AIDS related remedies to members of the general public in need.

Twafane Christian Community Care Centre

Provided HIV and AIDS interventions including home base care to the community and also addressed issues of CABA and community outreach educational sensitization.

Wilson�s Orphan and Street Kids Centre

Provided foster home and community school education, as well as supported orphaned and vulnerable children who attended public schools with basic education requirements such as books, school fees and uniforms.

Chipata NZP+

CO, AD, PEC, EC, O

Spear heading the formation and strengthening of support groups, training and information distribution on ART, Nutrition and positive living. They also conduct VCT and train peer educators. They have managed to increase the awareness about HIV/AIDS in Chipata, as well as increased the visibility of HIV in the community they serve.

Advocated and supported the rights of people living with HIV and ADIS, provided rights based prevention, care and support interventions.
