About SAT's School Without Walls

School Without Walls (SWW) is SAT's flagship, it is a pioneering initiative of south-to-south skills training, lesson-sharing, mentoring relationships, monitoring and study visits. SWW follows a strategy of strengthening the programming skills and organisational capacities of organisations involved in HIV and AIDS related activities at community level.

A defining characteristic of SWW is the emphasis placed on sharing the knowledge, skills and experience already available within the southern African region. It aims to facilitate communities to become ‘HIV and AIDS competent’, so that individuals, community organisations and institutions are able to initiate, design, review, own and manage local actions in response to HIV and AIDS.
