SAT Zambia

The Southern African AIDS Trust, Zambia (SAT Zambia) is part of the regional organization, namely, the Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) that supports community responses to HIV and AIDS in southern Africa. SAT Zambia was started in 1991 and currently supports 25 nongovernmental, community and faith based organizations in Zambia. The support is two-fold, namely, grant-making and organizational capacity strengthening activities through lessons-sharing workshops; skills-training seminars; mentoring relationships; exchange and study visits.

Priority areas: 

The priorities for 2008-13 are as follows:

  • HIV Prevention
  • Supporting children affected by HIV and AIDS
  • Scaling up treatment, care and support to People living with HIV
  • Gender and HIV and AIDS
  • Human Rights, Advocacy and Networking
  • Organizational Development and Institutional Strengthening of southern African AIDS Trust Zambia
