SAT Staff enrol for an SBCC online course

Date:
3 February 2012

In recognition of the importance of behaviour change in the response to HIV and AIDS and the importance of contributing to that change, SAT has enrolled its staff on an online social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) course. The online course comprises five modules which must be completed for one to receive a certificate of participation from the Communication for Change (C-Change) who are offering the course in collaboration with Ohio University. In SAT, the SWW unit is coordinating staff studies.

Between 2009 and 2011, the SWW unit organised a similar course for SAT partners and selected SAT staff which was delivered through workshops facilitated by C-Change. The rationale was to create a pool of in-country trainers on SBCC among SAT partners. This initial group of trainees successfully completed the course and graduated in November 2011. C-Change provides technical support to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of SBCC applied to programmes, activities, and tools.
